You don't have to stay at a Disney Hotel to experience their great on-site restaurants!

You can save loads of money on family vacations by staying in our Holiday Villlas and Private Pool Homes ... but still enjoy a special dinner at one of Disney's themed hotels.    Its a great idea to call ahead for reservations (be prepared you may still have to wait a little past your actual reservation time) with this easy to remember Disney Reservation Line:   1-407-WDW-DINE or 1-407-939-3463.  You can actually use this number to make reservations at any restaurant at Disney property.  You can make reservations the same day and up to 3 months in advance.   If you are coming for the holidays - BOOK EARLY!    Or at the very least, call as soon as you arrive for a special dinner during your stay to avoid disappointment.  During the busy season there are few cancellations and many restaurants are booked solid weeks in advance.  Also be aware some restaurants (like Boma) require a credit card to confirm your reservation as cancellations are now subject to a cancellation fee of $10 per person (this is new in 2012).

One of my favorite places to eat on Disney property is Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.   Its an African themed buffet on the ground floor of one of Disney's most impressive themed hotels!    Created to mimic a giant safari lodge, you will feel like you've been whisked away to another continent as soon as you enter the parking lot (Have a photo ID ready and know your reservation time and name its under as that is the only way you are allowed to enter the hotel area if you are not a paying hotel guest).    There is a great gift shop to the right as soon as you walk in ... just past there are the elevators that you will take down to the ground floor and Boma will be on the left (there is also a higher end restaurant to the right called Jiko which is not as child friendly).

Arrive early to check-in, but expect that you still may wait a little on their busiest nights .... and while you are waiting you can view the pool area behind the hotel and then go all the way past the pool to the very back of the property and you will see a display of wild animals including Flamingos, Giraffes, Zebra and other animals that change throughout the year.     By the time you get back your table will be ready and then the real fun begins!

The spices are exotic, but don't worry - the meats ingredients aren't.  Just the way they are put together.   You will start with a carving/meat station with chicken, fish, pork and beef.     There are several salads and soups (coconut chicken curry is my favorite soup!), pita chips with , and the deserts will not soon be forgotten (you HAVE to try to the Mango tartlets!!  Bet you can't eat just one!!).  This is a great place for vegetarians as there are many vegetarian options too.

The cost as of February 2012 is $15 for children and $35.99 for adults (beverages are not included in that cost).
